2025 - 2026 Dining Plans
Flexibility and Convenience with 18 locations that include access to national brand favorites and KU Dining classics. The 2025-2026 Dining plans all feature a select amount of meal swipes, as well as dining dollars. These plans are designed to fit the needs of students and their habits.
Residential Dining Halls are All-You-Care-To-Eat (AYCTE) dining establishments and are Mrs. E’s (Daisy Hill), South Dining Commons (Downs Hall), and North College Cafe (GSP Hall).
Retail locations offer multiple concepts from tacos to salad bars locations are: The Market (Kansas Union), The Underground (Wescoe Hall), Courtside Cafe (DeBruce Center), The Studio (Hashinger Hall), Chick-fil-A (Kansas Union), Wendy’s (Kansas Union).
CoffeeHouse WPS Starbucks locations across campus that offer grab-n-go items such as salads, sandwiches, fruit cups, and more!
Meal swipes can be utilized at all of our residential dining hall locations. Swipes are on a weekly basis and reset every Monday morning. For Premium and 14-meal plan holders, a swipe can be used at retail locations utilizing the heart of campus pass that is accessed through the Grub Hub app.
Dining Dollars are a dollar-for-dollar exchange on every purchase, Dining Dollars are used for all purchases from meals at retail locations, when you need a Starbucks coffee between classes. Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring to an active KU card. Please note that Dining Dollars are only academic year; any unused dollars expire at the end of the spring semester and are forfeited. Make sure you plan accordingly to use your dollars and not lose them.
Heart of Campus Pass is the option for premium and 14-meal plan holders to enjoy a combo meal at retail locations accessed through the Grub Hub app. The pass is eligible at Courtside Cafe, The Underground, and The Market during lunch hours (10 am - 3 pm) Monday- Friday without using dining dollars. Franchise locations (Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s) are not eligible for the Heart of Campus pass.
- Cost: $2,450* billed semesterly
- Unlimited swipes KU Dining's exclusive all-you-care-to-eat dining halls at Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons, and North College Cafe
- $300 per semester of dining dollars is available at 17 KU Dining locations for when you’re on campus & don’t have time to run back to your residence hall
- Please note that Dining Dollars are academic year only. Unused Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring semester, any unused dollars expire at the end of the spring semester and are forfeited. Make sure you plan accordingly to use your dollars and not lose them.
- These funds are reloadable
*$100 operation surcharge is applied per semester out of initial costs. The fee is to help offset the costs associated with back-end systems & and infrastructure, repairs and maintenance, and major deferred maintenance to support the dining service program.
- Cost: $2,382* billed semesterly
- 14 meal swipes per week at KU Dining's exclusive all-you-care-to-eat dining halls - Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons, and North College Cafe
- $600 per semester of dining dollars is available at 17 KU Dining locations for when you’re on campus & don’t have time to run back to your residence hall.
- Please note that Dining Dollars are academic year only. Unused Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring semester, any unused dollars expire at the end of the spring semester and are forfeited. Make sure you plan accordingly to use your dollars and not lose them.

- Eat at 18 Dining locations on campus.
- Can be used off-campus through the GrubHub app.
- Unused Dining Dollars roll over to the next semester with an active KU ID.

What are Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars: A dollar-for-dollar exchange on every purchase, Dining Dollars are used for all purchases from meals at dining centers and food courts, when you need a Starbucks coffee between classes. Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring to an active KU card.
They also work at Mrs E’s, North College Cafe, and South Dining Commons– our all-you-care-to-eat locations on campus. Dining dollars can be added to any plan if you run short!
Please note that the Premium, 14, and 10 plans are academic year plans. The dining dollars that are part of the plan will roll over from the Fall to an active Spring semester plan. Any unused dollars expire at the end of the spring semester and are forfeited. Make sure you plan accordingly to use your dollars and not lose them.

Terms and Important Dates
- Residents who select a residence hall are required to purchase a dining plan. Plan options are offered by KU Dining and residents eat at venues operated by KU Dining. A resident selects a plan and is billed twice during the academic year, at the start of each semester. For declining balance plans, remaining fall semester balances will carry over to an active spring semester balance. Any unused dining dollar balance remaining at the end of spring semester is forfeited.
- For all other students dining plans are optional and may be purchased through myKU login page by logging into Housing under Services.
A resident agrees to accept dining plan charges and pay the applicable fees in accordance with the scheduled due dates as posted by Student Accounts & Receivables. Fees not paid by the due date may result in one or more of the following actions being taken against the resident by the university: 1) postponement of scheduled check-in time; 2) suspension of access to housing and dining facilities; and/or 3) cancellation of contract. Cancellation charges will apply.
Housing residents will follow the Housing Cancellation policy. If approved for cancellation, KU Dining Plans will be canceled based on a prorated rate according to the week of the semester the student completes their check out from housing. Balances above the prorated amount will be forfeited.
Mid June: Adjustment to dining plans available in myKU portal
August 14: Fall dining plans & dining dollars become active
September 1: Last day to adjust Fall Dining Plan
December 12: Fall dining service ends
January 13: Spring dining plans & dining dollars become active
February 2: Last day to adjust Spring Dining Plan
May 15: Dining plans end, and funds/meals expire
