KU Dining Provides Flexibility & Convenience

Starting in 2020, Dining plans at the University of Kansas have been designed to provide you with meal options to best fit your schedule, budget, and lifestyle.

This year, you'll have the option to choose between Dining Dollar Plans or Traditional Plans. Both plans have been created to allow Jayhawks to eat when and where you want, throughout the semester. Learn more about 2020-2021 Dining Plans by viewing our flyer below. 

 
 
 

On-Campus Residents

Living in a residence hall?

Explore our plans designed to help you make the most out of your on-campus experience. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between are taken care of with one of our four plans.

 

If you’re living in Corbin, Templin, Lewis, Hashinger, Ellsworth, Self, Oswald, Stouffer North, Self or Downs Hall, you can choose any of the four dining plans below.

If you’re living in Jayhawker Towers, Marie S. McCarthy Hall, or Stouffer Place, you can choose any of the four dining plans below or from the Off-Campus Dining Plan.

 

Required Meal Plan Rates

Blue Flex (minimum required plan for on-campus residents)

  • Eligible at every dining location on campus
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases
  • Reduced pricing at residential halls ($6.00 for breakfast, $9.00 for lunch and dinner)
  • If you are a student who eats some meals on campus, the Blue Flex may be the plan for you
  • $3,600 annually

Crimson Flex

  • Eligible at every dining location on campus
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases
  • Reduced pricing at residential halls ($6.00 for breakfast, $9.00 for lunch and dinner)
  • If you are a student who eats most meals on campus, the Crimson Flex may be the plan for you
  • $4,000 annually

Jayhawk Residential Unlimited

  • Unlimited access to all residential dining centers (North College Cafe, Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons) plus to-go meals from those locations
  • You never have to worry about budgeting your dining plan
  • This plan does not include retail locations
  • $3,800 annually

Rock Chalk All-Access

  • Eligible everywhere on campus
  • Unlimited access to all residential dining centers (North College Cafe, Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons) plus to-go meals from those locations
  • Plus, a 425 Plan to be used at any campus retail space (disbursed in full on August 20, 2020, and billed with Fall 2020 charges)
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases

 

Expirations: Your dining dollars will expire at the end of each spring semester. Make sure you are on track to spend your dining dollars by the end of the academic year using this budgeting tool

 

Off-Campus & Apartment Residents

Living in an off-campus apartment or commuting to campus?

With some of you doing your own cooking and others needing a bit more, we offer plans both small and large. Some of you may just need 1-2 meals a week and a few cups of coffee, while others need 2 meals a day. Either way, you can click here to choose between one of our convenient plans for off-campus students.

 

If you're living in Jayhawker Towers, Marie S. McCarthy Hall or Stouffer Place, you can choose any of the dining plans below or from the residence hall dining plans.

  • Never expires; Remains active as long as you are a student in good standing at KU
  • Dining dollars rollover from semester to semester

 

Expirations: Your dining dollars will expire at the end of each spring semester. Make sure you are on track to spend your dining dollars by the end of the academic year using this budgeting tool. The 425 plan does not expire as long as you are a student at KU.

The plans listed above are the ones KU Dining Services believes to be most beneficial for off-campus students, however, off-campus and apartment students are also eligible to purchase the Jayhawk Residential and Rock Chalk All-Access dining plans.

  • Select and purchase your plan

Faculty & Staff

Our chefs aren't creating food just for students. We're here to serve you, too! As a full-time KU employee, you can sign up for the 425 Plan.

You can use the 425 Plan at any of our locations. You also receive a 15% discount on every purchase. Our dining centers are all-you-care-to-dine with no taxes and no tipping. They're also a great place for breakfast or lunch meetings. Our retail locations include brands like Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut, and more, and they are great for a meal on-the-go.

Just hand your KU card to the cashier and the cost of your purchase will be automatically deducted from your 425 Plan. You can sign up for as low as $25, or you can opt to have your plan payroll deducted.

  • Never expires; Remains active as long as you are a student or employee at KU

Payroll Deduction

Sign up for the 425 KU Dining Plan and conveniently pay through 10 payroll deductions of $42.50 each by filling out this form and submit to payroll@ku.edu, or drop it off in the office Carruth O'Leary Room 145.

Guest on Campus?

All of our locations are open to the public. At our retail locations, such as markets, cafes, and convenience stores, you pay for what you purchase. They're great locations for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, or a cup of Starbucks coffee.

Our residential dining centers are all-you-care-to-eat. Think of them as your favorite buffet without the tips or taxes. The pricing below is for people not on a dining plan. Students with a dining plan can use their dining dollars to pay for a guest.

  • Breakfast: $9.00
  • Lunch: $10.50
  • Dinner: $11.25

Sick Meals

Our residential dining centers are all-you-care-to-eat. Think of them as your favorite buffet without the tips or taxes. The pricing below is for people not on a dining plan. Students with a dining plan can use their dining dollars to pay for a guest.

If you are ill or confined to a residence hall, we can provide a carryout meal. Simply contact the dining center closest to you, and we will be happy to get you a meal. When contacting the dining center, please have your KUid number ready (9 digits). We will verify your meal plan balance and provide you a meal as soon as possible.
